Information Security Awareness: An Evaluation among Business Students with Regard to Computer Self-efficacy and Personal Innovation

Business colleges and schools expose students to core business principles, which yield potential employees having certain marketable skills and awareness. However, the current business environment also advocates an intensive use of information technology to enable competitive advantage, which requires a basic awareness of information security practices. This study empirically explores the awareness of information security practices, computer self-efficacy, and personal innovation measures among undergraduate business students at a large public university. The theoretical and practical implications of this study’s results are also discussed with respect to practitioners and researchers alike.
